National Critical Mineral Mission – Focus of the Mission

The main objectives of the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM) are:

1. 1. i) To ensure security of critical mineral supply chain through domestic and international sources of critical minerals along with recovery and recycling of critical minerals from secondary sources, end-of-life products and industrial waste.
   2. ii) To make the critical mineral value chain resilient through improvement in the technological, regulatory and financial ecosystems to enable innovation, skill development and competitiveness in critical mineral exploration, mining, beneficiation, processing and, more importantly, recycling and recovery of critical minerals.

A robust domestic ecosystem for recycling of critical minerals in India would enable it to recover critical minerals from end-of-life products, electronic waste, batteries and other secondary sources.
